I outfitting a carbine for predominantly home defense and a SHTF gun.  I need a light and would appreciate your opinions and suggestions.  The theme of the gun is "simple, rugged, afforadable, and lightweight."  Nothing exotic.  The carbine has M4 handguards, a GI sight tower, and a BM lightweight-profile 16" barrel.

I want to mount it to either side of the barrel, not at 6:00.  I don't like tape switches, a momentary/click switch would be preferrable. 60 lumens minimum.  Navigation lights, intergral lasers, etc. aren't necessary or desired... just a simple, rugged light & mount.

Pics would really help.

Thanks everyone.

This mount (wilson combat) with a G2 Nitrolon is cheap.  It s better with a click tail capped 6P and shock isolated bezel.  Best is Millenium 6V.  65 or 120 lumen bulbs available.

Insight M3 pistol light.  Very cheap, very light, not so rugged but OK, about 65 lumen real output.
