How do you install the surefire dedicated forends?? Just got a M510AB for my 20" A2 and both handguards do not fit into the handguard ring behind the sight tower. I can get either the top or the bottom on, but not both at the same time. Surefire's very limited FAQ states to use a rubber mallet but aren't very clear on how to do so.

I know I've seen this post before, but couldn't find anything with the search function. Anyone have any pointers for doing this??

It being the weekend, calling SureFire toll free on 800 828 8809 is not an option. However, there are some fine SureFire dealers who know a thing or two about WeaponLights and they may answer their phones at the weekend!

From what I gather, the use of a rubber mallet and some serious whacking should do the trick. I guess you are concerned about breaking it but this doesn't seem to be an issue.

Do you have a triangular or circular handguard cap??  If I remember correctly the 20 inch barrels usually come with the triangular handguard cap, and you will have to change to the round handguard cap inorder to fit the Surefire handguard.
