Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Green or Red LED's?

I'm getting a Sirefire A2 Aviator for work.  Which LED's help keep your night vision the best, green or red.  I'll also be reading paperwork by the LED light.  Thanks

I personally prefer the green to red for low-level illumination, but the A2's LEDs are well above the threshold for true dark-adapted vision.  If there is enough light to see the color of the beam, it's too bright.  So my A2 has white LEDs.  It's still a lot better than using the main beam or holding a second flashlight.
