Just curious guys, what type of lasers does the military use on their M4s and other rifles.  I know what they look like but I don't know what kind they are, and I don't think Sure Fire makes them.  They are about 4" or 5" long and look like two elongated parallel tubes which mount on a picatinney rail.  One tube is for the batteries and the other for the laser.  Anyways, I was just wondering who makes them and can you buy them?

Most common is the PEQ-2 and the PAQ-4, the 2 being the better of the 2.

Most are manufactured by Insight Technologies. But there are other sources.
