I'm looking at the Cross Tac Ambi sling, but it is missing the cinch strap that pulls the rifle against my body for tasks.

My favorite two point sling is the v-tac sling. Many have tried to improve or copy it. I prefer the padded style over the non-padded but either work great.

I also don’t care for slings with bungee cord, I’ve seen several guys get an AR slap to the groin thanks to a bouncing AR as they were running. While it’s funny to watch on the range, in real life situations it could be what cost you or some their life.

I second the V-Tac. I’ve had a padded one for about 8 years now, great product

I have the non padded Vickers sling  on my AK. Buying another one is an option.

Vickers. Mine survived 2 deployments, multiple training work ups and I still use it now as a civilian. Still looks new. I am so used to it that any other sling won’t feel right.

BFG Vickers for work...Viking tactics out in the open on a range.

I want to try Haley’s newest sling.

Vickers, it just flat out works. I have a Slingster and actually found it to be a bit uncomfortable if youre slinging the weapon with any frequency.

Troy makes a nice padded sling as well that I've been using on a 14.5.

Magpul MS3/4 depending on whether attachment is with paraclips or QD sockets.

One hand adjustable for two point carry or quick tight sling shooting.

I really like the vtac and recommend them.

Everyone thinks the vtac is an original sling and that everyone else is copying it/improving it. All VTAC sling did was improve upon a home made sling. What folks did in the 90s was take 2 USGI slings, an ALICE strap buckle and simply looped it around. You can use the backpack as a strap as well that's very easy to adjust. All vtac did was turned this strap into an assembly line production model.

Same with the Vietnam era silent sling that the IDF imrpoved upon with their own sling. Folks would take a USGI general purpose strap, snap the buckles off, then used a paracord to mounting points on the rifle. The IDF would improve upon this with a production level general purpose strap that retained the metal buckles but used a sleeve so you can still use paracords.

This for me.

Midway has a good knockoff with the arstoner brand if money is tight. I got a couple as loaners, they seem just fine. Come with hk snaps and qd swivels too.

I bought two Proctor slings. Didn't really care for them. I listed them for sale the other day. I'm trying out a new guy in GA. His business is called Flatline Fiber Co. His slings are like Vickers Blue Force Gear, but 1" inch instead of 1.5" inch.

I need to get a bfg vickers. Using a vtac type sling and I dont like the adjustment. I prefer the vickers type.

This all comes down to whether you value the ability of VTAC and similar slings to cinch down very tight. Slings with the loose end naturally have a larger range of adjustment.

BFG, proctor, etc all don't have the loose end, and are therefore tidier but lack the range of adjustment.

I want to, but I just cannot seem to relax the sling with any ease. At least on the one I have, you have to take the weight of the rifle off the sling.

I went from V-Tac and Vickers, tried a bungee V-Tac that is ok, the Proctor and others but mainly just use the V-Tac again.

VTac, non padding. Seems the padding just gets in the way, when transitioning the rifle side to front.

Agreed.

There are vtac knock-offs that are alright - I have some Israeli-made ones.

Magpul also makes a sling that's wider, with a polymer cinch thing that works well.

I have a VCAS, which is great for what it is, but my favorite hands-down is a USGI General Purpose strap- canvas is preferable, nylon is fine.
