Kind of an impulse buy, but I was browsing Amazon the other day and came across this quad rail and foregrip setup. I just went to install it on my Stag M3 and it looks like the new quad rail is a tad too long. Are there different length rails? Is there some kind of modification that needs to be done? Or did I just get stuck with a cheap piece of junk?

If you purchased what you linked to, you should have received a carbine rail which is as short as they come, save for a pistol length rail. A carbine rail will fit any AR with a carbine length gas system, assuming nothing is defective.

maybe yours is like mine? i purchased one similar and thought the same thing. What i then realized  is that i had to engage the lower lip into D ring instead on the gas block. the top clamps around the front. Kinda in reverse how the stock handguard came off. hope this helps

Edit: if it IS a cheapo, you might wanna consider some rail covers.. Sharp as shit when grabbing in a hurry!

Turns out I'm just a dumbass and I was trying to install them backwards. I'm home sick with the flu, so I'm blaming my lack of mental capacity on that, haha. Anyway, thats for the input guys. I got the rail installed and it seems to be made pretty nice for the money. I've never personally handled the $200+ rails so I have no basis for comparison, but I can't complain with this one.

Don't feel bad. I have been home most of the week recovering from oral surgery. I have been sitting on Arfcom for about three days now. I have almost built another rifle from the EE. Now I just need to get out and mail some money orders.

I really need to ban myself from the EE.
