Which set up is best for a single point sling?  What are the pros and cons of each?  I thought this would get a better response in this forum.

Noveske Minimalistic Sling mount.

Troy M4 OEM

Magpul ASAP

I can't say for sure but I used to use the KAC.

Want to try the ASAP cause my buddy said it rocked... will eventually.

I didn't list the KAC becasue it is similiar to the Troy.  Can you collapse the stock all the way with the KAC?  I think you can with the troy.

I hear that you can't collapse the stock all the way with the ASAP, is this true?

i think it would depend on the stock.

i have a Vltor emod on mine and i can collapse it all the way and still use the ASAP no problem

Anything on a firearm that clicks, rattles, or makes noise, sucks.

All of those do that.

I don't like my guns to make noise unless I mean it to.

I like the Daniel Defense better than the Noveske, though they're almost the same.

My opinion is a side mounted like the Troy stays flatter to the body than the DD/Noveske, but the latter pair are more versatile.

The KAC allows the stock to go completely in.

This is what I use.....

.....along with, a Spectre MOUT single point sling.

I just got the Noveske minimalist endplate in. It rocks! Im running a Magpul CTR and it allows the stock to be fully closed with the QD swivel in place. Its really well made especially for just an endplate. Initially I was worried itd be just stamped out, flimsy and poor quality.....not so! I love it. I also run the heavy duty single point sling mount from Midwest Industries on another AR. It allows you to mount on either side as well as directly in the center. With this i cannot close a Magpul CTR all the way. In my opinion Noveske is the way to go. Its silent and allows for seemless transition from strong side to weak with no adjustment.

I really like my ASAP..
I have had it for a few months and done a bit of shooting with it including a Carbine class...

The jury is still out on the MS2 sling though..

I use the ASAP with my SOPMOD and it collapses all the way as well.

I vote for the ASAP. I have one on my rifle and love it. My CTR fully collapses with it too. As to the rattling thing, if you don't have anything attached to it and you hold the rifle and shake it, it'll rattle. When a sling is actually attached to it though it doesn't rattle.

I vote the Noveske. I also don't like rattling shit and when you remove your sling that little loop will always be there. PLUS, the Noveske follows the lines of the lower, while the ASAP has a corner that sticks out on each side. Just my opinion.

noveske.....i have the dd version but the noveske is more low profile so you can bring the stock in all the way if you want. I'm using the regular vltor club foot stock which is slightly shorter then the emod so I never bring it all the way in anyway.

Just put a ASAP on my Colt recently.  Haven'tused it extensively yet, but it seems to perform well as far as fire-to-reaction side changes, whcih I like a lot.

I would agree with this. If my DDM4 didnt come with their plate mount, I would buy another ikickhippies. Great product without all the marketing $$
