Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Colt Slings 2 Q's

I am referring to the standard type USGI slings that are shipped with Colt 6920's, 6520's, and 6721's.  These are noticably longer than standard slings.  Where can I get these?  I saw a few on the EE but was too late...

Also, what is the purpose of having an extended length sling?  I did see in the M16/ M4 operator's manual that there are 2 slings listed in the equipment list (rifle and carbine slings, carbine sling being longer).....
