The only single point sling that I would use is the A.S.P..  This question has come up frequently, and there are quite a few threads on it.  I've used a box full of other single point slings, and none of them were suitable for my needs.  I tried the ASP, and swapped my duty and training weapons over to use it.  

I really don't think there is a better single point sling available on the market.

Maybe someone else has crossed this bridge and found a solution. If so, please chime in.

Problem:

Factory Bushmaster carbon 15 pistols do not use a traditional castle nut to capture the buffer tube. In fact, the buffer tube is plastic and simply threads into the rear of the receiver which negates the possibility of using a single point receiver end plate. To further complicate the situation, a bolt on solution ( such as the CAR EZ mount ) isn't suitable either since it is designed to squeeze the buffer tube to hold its position. I fear using a clamp on in this situation could damage the plastic buffer tube and / or cause operational failure.

The only solution I have seen is a pistol buffer tube with a custom tailcap outfitted with a swivel. However, I am not sure whether or not this is doable with the Bushmaster pistol.

Thoughts anyone?

Just below the buffer tube there is a place on the pistol to mount a single point sling. It is a small fitting into the metal end-plate that has a 1 - 1 1/2 mm hole.

Could you take a picture of that area? I would be interested to see how the buffer tube is attached and what exactly is provided in that location with regard to hookig up a sling.
