What's the best way to take out the horizontal sling point under the FSB? I want to put one a side-sling point on and don't really have a use for it, not to mention it possibly getting in the way.

Leave it on.  Wrap an O-ring around the base of the sling point and fold it out of the way.

I've dremeled the end off the pin and just pushed it out.

the front sling swivel? is it riveted on or held with a roll pin?

either way, you can usually drive out the pin with a smaller than normal sized pin punch. I usually use a 1/16" starter punch since they're stronger.

Me too, just knock it out with a small punch.  The rivet will crack with a a little tap or two.
