I got a set of Cav Arms furniture with a rifle I bought. Figured I'd report on what I thought about it.
First, Cav Arms website for the stuff:
www.cavalryarms.com/C4.htmlI bought a used Bushy 20" A3 rifle, and as part of the deal, a complete Cav Arms furniture set was included.
Furniture was clean and neat.
I noticed the full size handguards do not have any aluminum heat shielding in them, nor do they have the cutouts to install any.
The buttstock was A1 length, a little shorter than the stock A2 stock. The spacer is removed along with the A2 buttstock when swapping them out. A shorter buttplate screw is included. You do have to use your original buttplate.
Everything installed farily well. Only two areas that were a little rough. First, I noticed there was overmold left in the hole where the sling screw threads past the sling swivel on the buttplate. It was solid, so I hade to get a drill and ream it out so I could install the sling mount/buttplate.
The grip mounting flanges were very tight, on inserting the grip onto the lower. This took considerable force/wiggling to get it on, but once on, it is solid as a rock.
Overall, the fit and finish are excellent. I like the looks.
The grip is VERY nice. I has a very good feel, and has a rough texture that I really like.
What do you think? I dig it!
