Just purchased a new Colt 6920 yesterday and am trying to go the inexpensive route.

Want to get the Nikon p 223 3-9X40 based on Amazon reviews.

Question is will I have any issue with the fixed front post with the 1 inch mount?

Is the a better scope under $250ish I should be looking at?

Will only be range shooting.

Thx

1 inch mount refers to the diameter of the scope, not the height of the rings.  In either case, it will be fine.  At 3x, the front sight might appear as a smudge towards the bottom of the view, or you may not notice it at all.  If it bothers you, you can turn it up to 4 and above, and it should disappear from view.
