Which Remington 700 .308 will you be getting? I believe in matching the rifle, scope, and intended use. What model 700?
If you will not be shooting beyond 250 yards, the .308 trajectory is flat enough that you do not need tactical or target turrets or fancy BDC or mil dot reticles and could put more of the money into better glass. A proper zero on the .308 can get you out to about 275 yards without being more than 3" above or below your point of aim. Ask yourself how frequently you shoot beyond that distance before choosing a reticle or tactical turrets. Also ask yourself if you will ever use this rifle at 25 yards. A higher power, fixed power scope has a very narrow field of view that can present problems acquiring targets up close, even if you can adjust focus that close.
