I have 3 different optics I'm looking at for my LMT .308 MWS. What y'all think about the 3?
1. Trijicon 6x48 ACOG

2. Nightforce 2.5-10x42

3. US Optics

Nightforce.

Back when I owned a MWS, I got a NF for it:

Got rid of the MWS, but kept the scope.  It now lives on my 901.

I would stay away from the 6x48 ACOG.  The thing is a monster.  Go with the NF, you won't be disappointed...

That NF 2.5-10x42 is really nice.  If you can score a 24mm, that be great as well.

I like the Nightforce would you use the VELOCITY™ 600 reticle? I won't be shooting over 500-600 yards with it also would you get a mount with a 0moa or 20moa built in for the 500-600 yard range.

I'd opt for this.

I frankly don't understand those that opt for low variable optics on 308s.

To me, low variable optics belong on a 556 - and exceptions can certainly be made with a 556 as well that justify far more magnification.

I guess I just base my opinion off of what my intended use of a semi auto 308 is - a 500 plus yard purpose rifle (even a 200 plus yard purpose rifle).

I see little reason to ever run and gun with a 308, or need the ability to quickly and rapidly acquire targets at short distances with a 308 - a 556 will cover all of that and then some for next to every practical purpose (beyond hunting large game).

For me, a semi auto 308 is used in scenarios where I am able to take my time to acquire a target, and can reach out and touch something - magnification is your friend there. You can always offset an RDS or BUIS if you still want the ability of quick close quarters target acquisition as well.

The MK6 3-18 is awesome.

My Review.
