Has anybody used one of these?
Are they some kind of alternative
for a Aimpoint or Eotech?

Think of them as an alternative to the Trijicon Reflex series.  No batteries because of tritium and fiber optic illumination.  Beyond that, you use em eyes open like an aimpoint or eotech.

Between the folks on here, it is usually split 50/50 between trijicon and meprolight.  Personally, I prefer the meprolight with bullseye reticle.

There is a long thread about em.  Just search Meprolight m21.

Have an m21 and I like it a lot.

I chose it for my SHTF optic because the reticule is fiber optic and tritium lit as opposed to battery.

The M21 is standard issue in Israel.

Excellent optic, built like a tank. However, it suffers from the bane of all tritium/fiber optic sights and that's reticle washout under certain lighting conditions (like aiming from a dark room out a window into bright sunlight or using a taclight close-in at night).
