Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Scope and oil/cleaning products - any horrow stories?

I try to avoid getting oil and cleaning solvents around my scopes and red dots.  I know they're all waterproff, but oil is easier to work itself into small gaps.

Anyone have any horrow stories of oiling up the inside of a lense with oil or cleaner?  Am I worried about something that's not an issue?
