Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Does the Eotech 516/517 need a riser for bottom 1/3 co-witness.

I am deciding between these two, leaning towards the 516.  I notice that they are taller then the other models.  Would I need a riser like a Larue mount to put my irons in the bottom 1/3?

All the current 512's & 517's I've seen recently (in the nice black plastic box) already come w/an integral 7mm riser that provides 1/3 cowitness. I use the 517 on my STG's.
