Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - A.R.M.S. #40; What's the attached wire cable for?

I have an older ARMS #40 on my Colt and ordered another one for my LMT.  It arrived today and noticed a little wire cable which runs through it.  Sort of a retaining wire.  This was not on the other #40, so why have they added it?
