I need to add a BUIS to finsh my M4 build. Im thinking between either the ARMS #40L or the TROY industries FBS-RA1.SKD. Does anyone have any experience,  or ideas im missing. My optic is the Eotech 512 so space is limited.

Thanks in advance

I went with Troy.  I wanted one that locked up.  I'll probably never need to use it, but its nice to have...

I've used both, but I still own Troy sights.

I was thinking Troy, but needed confirmation.
Troy it is!

You chose wisely.

I have the TROYs, as well as the ARMS #40A2 (close).

Troy, by such an embarassing large margin.  Only others I'd consider are the MI and PRI, but I'd still take the TROYs

:Edit: atrocious spelling

Why not a RRA Dominator 2 that you can buy from www.colemantyler.com for approx. $124 which is made for an EOTECH.

I owned them both. I have the Troy. FWIW I use an LMT as my primary BUIS.

I prefer the 40L SP myself (because I want to default to a small aperture), but the Troy is a very good choice as well.

I have three Troys. My next rifle will have Troy also.

As already stated...the best BUIS in the industry (IMHO)!

Cheers,

I would guess he wants a folding sight, given that the two he listed as options are folding

Troy...hmmm, are you seeing the trend here?

I have the ARMS 40LP and highly recommend it. As for the Troy, I've heard nothing but good about them, so I'm sure that would work out just fine too.

I've got the ARMS #40L Low Profile. Works great and it fits right under my EOTech x3 FTS.

ARMS has always made good stuff....been running a #40 for years and I run their ACOG mounts as well......superb hardware.

Troy also makes good stuff and I myself lean towards their BUIS.

Troy is also currently the most popular......pick what you like based on your views and needs.....along with what you deem to be solid internet kingdom input...you'll be fine with your choice.

I have a Troy rear folder but now I need a gas block mounted sight for the front. Any ideas? I called Troy and they have a gas blcok mounted front sight in the works but it wont be out for a while.
TIA.

Does the Troy have a same plane aperture?
Link Posted: 7/9/2008 2:55:17 PM EDT
[#27]
Yes, Troy is same plane.

It's also a much better choice than the ARMS (any ARMS!) if you'll be mounting under a scope.  Sounds like it fits under red dot magnifiers OK, but even the 40L is too tall for many scope/mount combos.

I had problems getting my 40L to fit under a SS 10X.  The Troy and MI work fine.  I'd got with the Troy over the ARMS any day of the week.

I went with the Troy rear sight and I LOVE IT!  It's rock solid in the up and down locked pos.

What kind of scope is that with the ARMS under it, and which LaRue mount?
