[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Best 2-7x optic for ~400-550 dollars?

Looking for some mid range optic options for my midlengths in a few months. I'd like to keep the cost of the optic lower than about $550 since I'm buying two optics. Illumination isn't a massive requirement, although it would be useful.

What is out there. There was a thread commenting on how shitty someone's 2-7x Burris optics turned out, which turned me off to them...
