I haven't had to qual on the KD course for a while so my knowledge is rusty. I have a LMT BUIS. I pretty much know to BZO my 16inch middy at 36 yards on 6/3 elevation for 300 yd BZO. Now heres the question: For 200 yds, should my elevation be 6/3 -2 or 6/3 -4?

Background on my BUIS: It is 6 clicks between the 6/3 and 4 on my BUIS, thus it is 'half-clicks' per the Maryland AR15 shooters website.

BZO at 25 meters with a 25 meter BZO target.

6/3 -2 should be good for 200 meters.

I would verify at both 300 and 200 meters if possible.

(someone will probably be along with a different opinion)

should be 6/3 -4 (normally -2 clicks but hes running 1/2 clicks) at 50 yards is what I think he is asking

Pretty sure its 6/3 -4 at 200 . The A2 rifles were 8/3-2 at 200 so Im pretty sure yours is 6/3-4.

AS PER THE M16A2 MANUAL ON A A3 CARRY HANDLE SIGHT. ZERO AT 25 METERS 27.5 YRDS. WITH THE SIGHT SET AT PLUS 2 CLICKS AS THE A3 IS IN 1/2 MOA CLICKS AND THE A2 IS IN I MOA.THIS SHOULD SET YOU GOOD TO GO AT 250 - 300 METERS WITH THE SIGHT BACK AT 6/3.

So are you saying he should sight it like a 20" barrel?

I personally would sight it like an M4 14.5 barrel at 6/3 for 25 meter BZO then shoot it at 300 meters.

If it was good, I would'nt change the elevation for 200 meters unless I was shooting some type of target competition vice combat style shooting.

YOU ARE RIGHT .I JUST LOOKED IT UP IN MY TM9-1005-319-10(OPERATORS MANUAL)
ON THE M4/M4A4 YOU LEAVE IT SET ON 6/3 TO BATTLE ZERO FOR 250-300 METERS.WHAT I PUT BEFORE WAS FOR 20 IN.
