Anybody have any suggestions on what mount I should use with a Nikon Tactical? I believe it has 3.5" of eye relief if that helps any. Should I get traditional rings or get a detachable mount like the Larue?

The Nikon Tactical is just like any other 30mm scope.  On my flatop, I mounted it with an ArmaLite one-piece mount.  I do not remove the scope, it stays on there.  This mount is about $90.  Others rave about the LaRue mount and its return to zero when removed and remounted.  LaRue makes good stuff.  The price is about double the ArmaLite mount.

I would suggest a one piece mount, ArmaLite or LaRue, or others.  I believe these mounts are more sturdy than two piece mounts, just my opinion.
