A quick question about a specific setup:

I have a A2 AR carbine with the Arms #39 Mount.  This mount has a "brush breaker" that is attached to the leading edge of the mount. This little hunk of metal actually fits down into the forward-most hole on the top of the CAR handguards. (See pic below.)

My question is this: Will this mount work with some tac handguards?  I am looking at the MI ones specifically (not free float), but I am open to suggestions.  If it won't work, are these handguards stable enough for an optic to be mounted?  This will allow me to do away with the #39 completely.

Lastly, can someone post a pic of either of these specific setups?( #39 with tac hanguards or A2 with optics mounted to handguards).

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I have the Fobus M33 handguards and the ARMS 39 just fits.  The metal brush breaker is secured with a  screw to the front of the mount.  I had to remove mine to fit with the handguards.

Sarge

I'll try and post a good pic of this tomorrow.
