Is it too much for a rifle if you want to switch between cqb and mid range? Ive seen all the 1-4 optics. i thought this would be a step in that direction. but would the scopes be to big and slow for close range work?

some links for your judgment.......
Kahles 1.5-6 Illuminated 30mm
Zeiss 1.5-6x42 Varipoint VM/V 30mm
Swarovski 1.5-6x42 Professional Hunter 30mm

what do you guys think. is it long range only, or is there the possibility for close work.

Spend $175 on a Tasco Titan to try it out. It's a 30mm tube, made in Japan, VERY nice scope. I have a couple of these.

When you decide that you like the 1.5-6x, sell me the Titan and get yourself a Zeiss or whatever uber-dollar scope suits you best.
