post a link to the ended auction so that it can be confirmed/denied what you bought.

Good optic, kind of slow up close and not great for precision work, but its tough as nails and the glass is clear. Lots of Hadjis wish it had never been issued, thats for sure.
I guess all the ACOG stuff is simmering down now because you can actually get them. Just a year ago it was the best thing since sliced bread.
+1 Though the TA01s are running around $600 now used |
Oh God...this is like watching sharks circle an injured baby seal.
You're gonna love your new optic. ACOGs are awesome!...hope you get many years' use outta yours! (and please post pics w/ you get it!) |
I got a TA01 of ebay for $675 delivered... it's the real deal. You just gotta read the auction detals THOURGHLY!! If it says it is the real deal and is not, you have recourse through ebay.
I got this one for $640 to my door. |

Looks like the TA01 No question a great product and is advertised as the real deal This scope is desiged for mounting on a .223 rifle (AR15 included) retails for $1,000 see the company scoop here Those who own this model, love it......... Congratulations!! |
Is that model recommended for mounting on a Carry Handle?
If so, I might have to look into that for my A2 Upper. |
It can be but I think you will be happier with it mounted to a flat top. I seriously considered getting one of those but in the end I couldn't get over the very small eye relief (1.5") |
Pardon my ignorance, but what makes them so good? I have been looking at them myself, but I can't see anything other than what the company says about them.
Why does the military use it so much? Some have commented that it is not very good at close range, and ok at long? Short eye relief? Why are they so good? |
Ive had one for a little over a year and love it. I still wish Trijicon would make a ACOG with the TA01 reticle but with the BAC feature as well. The minute they do, this one goes up for sale....
the mount is actually integrated on the scope and all you have to is set on the carry handle and set the screw. |
With the short eye relief, it gives you a large field of view. The Recoil in the AR-15/M4gery is low enough that the small eye relief isn't a problem. They are solid built like a tank & hold their zero when dropped from a plane (not that you will be, its just how excellant they are). The crosshare glows for lowlight/night shooting with the tritium source. The optics quality IMO is crystal clear. I love mine... i will never sell it unless trijicon makes them even more improved. I would advise you to NOT buy such items off of EBAY as you might get screwed and EBAY may or may not help you. If a dealer advises that they are an authorized Trijicon dealer, I would double check that against Trijicons dealer list: www.trijicon.com/user/reseller/reseller.cfm C4 www.GRTactical.com |

Didnt Munyguru buy two ACOGS a while back off Ebay from like New jersey and when he got them they where clearly made in china knock-offs? He eventualy got his money back but it was a severe headache ..... I think all we are saying when buying high end optics off ebay, just be carefull or dont do it at all... |

I got one of the mini ACOG's for Christmas (thanks ADCO!) I can't wait to get it on my AR and go shooting. Just ordered a LaRue QD mount for it...soon, soon.
I was able to work with EOTech, Aimpoint, and the ACOG so I was able to decide which I preferred for myself. IMO, the ACOG is the best all around optic. And there's the added bonus of never having to buy batteries for it. |
i purchased 2 ACOG TA 31 and TA 31F in e bay last yeat...from same seller...
both scope were authentic ACOG scopes,,and i got it for around $700 |
Are there any questions I can ask the seller to verify I am receiving an authentic ACOG TA01?
Ask for the serial number, so you can "verify the date of manufacture and see how long the tritium will last."
Tritium has a 12 year half life. Some of the older ACOGs are approaching the point where they will need new tritium, which is expensive. To my knowledge, all ACOGs have serial numbers. |
nobody's given him shit about not being in the optics forum yet? damn...
I owned a TA01 and they are great! |
I have two ACOGs, the TA01 and the new USMC issue with BAC reticle, TA31RCO. RCO isRifle Combat Optic which is what the Marines call the ACOG. The BAC is Binden Aiming Concept which allows both eyes to stay open during firing. They are awesome products and will make ANYONE a better shooter than they would be with iron sites. This is exactly what the USMC discovered in Iraq. My wife loves here ACOG too as she really is able to put some rounds on target; hits make a shooter more confident and of course more lethal. The TA31RCos are very expensive, but worth it, IMO.
Semper FI! |

Use mine as references:
#024081 was made in 5/99. TA01NSN. #046075 was made in 5/03. TA01. |
I hope you scored a real ACOG.
I hate it when sellers use someone elses pictures for selling stuff. It makes me suspicious. |
LOl, well, the # i got is totally off the wall then. JN8:12 Ugh. Where is the # located at? Also, what are things to look for? |
The serial number is stamped in a dot matrix font and is located where the housing of the eyepiece meets the main body housing. Should be noticeable.
Yeah, it's pretty new. You have nothing worry about if you thought the tritium might be old. Congrats on a fine scope.
That is an excellent price too!!! |
I think that's the point of the TA01 and TA01NSN. The cross-hair reticle and the bullet drop compensation is for taking more precisely aimed shots at longer than CQB distances. They are designed to do what a 2MOA or 4MOA dot cannot do. |
Just for reference the serial on my TA31F is 097992 and it was made 4/26/05. |
With all due respect your a dealer and Ebay cuts into your profits. Yes ebay will not help you but you can stop pay your credit card. I have had good luck on Ebay with the exception of one dead beat seller. Pat |
To add further I have purchased a TA31 and two Eotechs off Ebay. Just look at the sellers rating and feedback before buying.
Pat |
Go here and shoot them an email with the serial. They will reply with the born on date. |
WOW! they are quick. November 2005 |
