I have a question about the EOTech series. When an EOTech is RevF does this mean the buttons will be black rubber or can they be the large black and white buttons as well or is the black and white buttons an old design not on the RevF models?

What was the last year the black and white buttons were made? And are they still being made by EOTech?

I bought my 512 back in late 02 or early 03, it was a rev. A and had the old style butons (and craptastic battery life). hope that info helps.

now i have a 552, and like it 10x more than the old one.h.gif

OH CRAP!

Does it need to have a small "F" on that hood there to be a rev. f?

If so, I got lied to and ripped off on the EE

I know my EOtech is revision F and has the F on the hood just like Wizzo has pictured.

My new 552 is stamped F on the hood as well.  Good luck.

I also have the "F" on my 512s (2). And I at least pulled off that nice bright yellow "laser" sticker! *ahem*

After reading this post... you had me wondering about mine as well... so I went and checked on my 552 (that I bought on gunbroker).  Sure enough... "F" is stamped on the hood.  I had never thought to check the "F" print.

I talked to EOTech some time ago and they confirmed that all Rev F's had the F stamp.
I would not be a happy camper if someone sold me an older EOTech as a Rev F.

So what date did they start with the Rev F?  I am trying to dig up more info on a 554 that I recently purchased and it is a Rev F.  Thanks, Wj

Rev F's started in Feb. 2004 and are still the current revision.
The change from the flat buttons to the rubber-covered buttons began with the Rev. E models.
Only the Rev. F's are indicated by the F on the hood.  Previous models did not show the Revision.
If you have a sight with the rubber covered buttons, but no F on the hood, you have a Rev E.

As I previously mentioned the 554 was a one-time production run for the U.S. Army ARDEC Rapid Fielding Initiative. They were all Rev. F's and the only difference between a 552 Rev. F and the 554 was the programming of the brightness turn-on level with the down arrow button.   About 6,500 were delivered on contract to the Army.  I don't believe that any were released to the commercial market.  It may be the case that you purchased GI property.

I think Hylton has bigger problems than not finding the F- I think he's got the round membrane buttons with the white up and down arrows.  Otherwise, he wouldn't be asking about them so much or maybe wouldn't even know about them, right?

When EoTech fist came out w/ the REV F they did not have a marking on the hood this was because they had some leftover hoods with no F on them.

The rubber buttons mean Rev D if I remember correctly The Rev C were the std non rubber buttons and the Rev F was the hood marking-- if you got screwed on the hood marking you got screwed on some re-sale value because there isn't really a way to prove it is an F.

I wouldn't accept it anyway.  Then you're into serial numbers and calling EO tech an believing what someone tells you.
