Is the Leupold VX-I 2-7x33mm in matte with a dueplex reticle (link) appropriate for casual range use?

I shoot at an indoor range (10 yards to 25 yards), and outdoor 100 and 200 yard ranges. Currently I've got an old, beat up Tasco World Class 4x40mm that I got from a friend back in elementary school (I've had it for about 7 years), and I'd like to get something a bit nicer.

This would be mounted on a flattop 20" rifle.

Just put same scope on my 20" Bushmaster HB.2x is great for coyotes at close range and 7x
is more than enuf to make the 300 yarders on same. Add to that over 4 inches of eye relief
and it is hard to beat. Used leupold rifleman see thru mounts to get correct height.[pn 55880]

Same scope I put on my mom's 7mm08 and it serves her very well.

Same caliber, same scope exactly.  I like it.
