I just purhased my very first AR and need some help with accessories. Will Armalite one piece scope mount, part # EX0027 (1 inch), fit on a Bushmaster VMATCH rail?

Here is a link to the mount:

Yes, it mounts to weaver rails, so it is compatible. It looks like a good deal, kind of like the LaRue mount (SPR-1.5) I bought, but much less in price. I say go for it.

Extra-high rings will get the sight axis high enough, but the scope will likely be too far back if mounted directly to a flattop, especially in prone.  A much better setup uses a rail extender (sometimes called a scout rail) ~1/2" high that extends the flattop rail ~4" forward; that lets you mount the scope far enough forward for a comfortable position and proper eye relief.  You can use medium rings on the extender and have the scope at the right height.  I prefer Burris Signature Zee Rings as the floating plastic inserts eliminate the need to lap them to avoid strain on the scope tube, and offset bushings are available that let you get the optical zero close to the POI.
