We have a tacked photo thread under the AR Discussions section. We have a tacked photo thread under  the Lights and Lasers section. How about a tacked photo thread under the  Optics, Mounts, and Sights section?

I think it’s a good idea, many new members often are undecided when it comes to optics and optics mounts and a photo thread showing the options out there would probably help.

I’ll start the ball rolling. If it takes off and gets tacked great! If not oh well, let this thread slide into the ARFCOM annuals of time!

First is my M4gery with Aimpoint ML2, PRI Mount and MATEC BUIS.

An older pic, sporting the EOTech 511A65 and Bushmaster Cut Carry Handle BUIS.

Second is my CAR15 with Aimpoint ML2, ARMS #2 and Aimpoint x-wide low mount.

We'll start with these. Then I'll take some better ones that focus more on the optics then the rifles.

And because it's the only semi decent pick of the Aimpoint.

Bump up for those not in the loop. I’m trying to get a collection of pics of different optics configurations going , in hopes of possibly getting a tacked thread for future reference. If you have pics to contribute post em‘!!!

Would it be much trouble to show shots of views through the sight as well? Especially since the old views through various optics thread is not defunk - due to the board update.

Scope's now gone, and an eotech's on top, no riser.

Different Carbine and old eotech (lopsided Rev C 511), both long gone:

To properly do a thread like this,

Anyone that posts should:

1. Show picture of the optic and mount from both sides and a shot through the scope with a view of nature(Trees, backyard...)

2. Describe the components in the setup(Scope details, ring height and brand...)

3. List the likes and dislikes of the said optic.

Dashingdog, the mount is really sturdy and I've had no problems with it staying zeroed, even while being banged around while climbing up some trees with it strapped over my back.

Aimpoint CompM2 on an ARMS mount w/spacer that I plan on ditching for a LaRue.

Thanks Quib.  I'm gettin rid of the ARMS because it moves on me.  Everytime I'd go shooting I had to re-sight it in.  At first I thought it was because I was taking it off and putting it back on between shooting trips.  So I decided to leave it on permanently.  Still I had to keep sighting it in, so after the last time of sighting it in I checked it with my irons.  When I'm "on" the dot is right on top of the post when co-witnessing.  I looked at it today and the dot was between the post and wing.  So I took everything apart and tightened everything real good.  I aligned everything (lined up the dot on top of post while co-witnessing) and then I pushed on it.  And again it moved.

I searched around here a bit, and didnt find anybody else have this problem (maybe I didnt look long enough)  But everyone seems to really like the LaRue.
