Probably covered before, but...

What magnification setting should one use when sighting in a new scope, the lowest, the highest, or the middle setting?

 Every scope that I have owned The manual  instucted to set the scope at it's highest magnifacation for the initial sight in.      

   I'm sure there will more expienced shooters to come along and correct me if I'm wrong.

I always use the highest and it seems to work for me.  But I think that depends on what scope power you have.  If its a std 3-9, I would use the 9.  If you have like a 8-32, 32 might not be the best.
