I've got the ARMS Aimpoint QD mount and riser.

I used the loc-tite that came with the mount and loc-tited the riser to the mount.

What do I do to take it off?

I'm mounting it onto a BB gun and I want to know if it's worth paying $50 for some "knock-off" mount or, simply taking the riser off.

Can it be heated with a lighter without harming the finish?

Was it blue loc-tite?

Blue loc-tite on threads, use the right sized tool with a good handle and give it a hard twist.

Blue loc-tite holding the surfaces together, use a vice and brass hammer.  A good strike in the sheer direction, and it should come off.

Red loc-tite, maybe a thermo-nuclear blast.

I know that isn't true.

I've removed a paint-ball feed neck with red loc-tite on it.

It just took a lighter, heated it up - and screwed it right out...

heat to 325 degrees.

Can that be done with a common cigarette lighter? *No, I don't smoke*

Will it harm the finish if it is heated to that temperature?
