Damn dude! Where are you buying your optics? The Jpoint runs $240 at Midway. (dealer/gunsmith) discount. |
What mount is that? |
That mount should extend protection over the optic, like a mini EOTech. |
No problem, I like the gun p0rn!
Is see the doc optics, but I see 2 different mounts. One is Daniel Defense, what is the other, the one with "ears"? How do you align the rings on the ACOG to get the optic straight? |
I believe the band is to keep the killFLASH in place. |
Question, just how durable are those J-points, lets say that you drop your rifle? Can it withstand the drop test?
Very durable. They are operating in the sandbox as we speak. C4 www.GRTactical.com |
I believe it is the JP Enterprises mount. |
Yes it is, I use the same one. It fits the JPoint or Doctor with minor mods to the mount. It helps reassure me I'm not going to smash up the $300 Doctor. Good stuff. |
Unless you are referring to the mount UNDER the AGOG, which I believe is a TA51 Many have them, including Bushmaster and most authorized Trijicon/Trijicon accessory dealers |
+1 the mount underneath the optic is the ta51 and they are much cheaper in the equipment exchange, hell i even have some lying around |
Yes they did. DD also makes them now and they are exactly like the KAC one. C4 www.GRTactical.com |

Anyone have a preferance for a jp optic or a Doc optic? Why?
You may want to do a search on this question, it's been debated once in a while. I've never used the JPoint but have heard it is a very good optic and more durable than its predecessors (Optima and something else IIRC). That being said, however, the Doctor is only about $60 more and is made of steel and glass unlike the JPoint. I love mine. They'll probably both be fine though. |
does this only work on the nsn or is it possible to put on a 31F?
None. C4 |
I have one of the JP mounts with the side wings for the ACOG (see the pictures above).
Unfortunately, I don't have an ACOG. I really don't need the mount (hint hint). |
With the TA01/JPoint combo, where does the red dot on the JPoint co-witness with the front sight? Is it way over the front sight (an inch or more)? Anyone have pics?
There is no co-witness with the JPoint. C4 |
Do I get the lower bracket when I order a JP NSN mount or is that charged separately?
Simon |
Are any shims needed under the JPoint when zeroed at 25 yards?(JPoint on top of NSN, MRP w/14.5)
Charged separately and is NOT on my web site. Shoot me an e-mail for ordering. C4 |
If you get the Weaver mount, there are shims. C4 |
grant, doe sthe Jpoint/doctor whateveer the heck it is - is there an on off button or are they on when cover is off and of when cover is on?
We should talk. |
Both the JPoint and Dr are ALWAYS on and simply go to sleep when the cover is put on. The full off would be when you take the battery out. C4 |
Is there any problem zeroing a JPoint on top of a ACOG at 25 yards? |
Not that I have ever had (have zero'd them on optics and ACOG's). C4 |
hate to bug you bout a product you don't make but whats the battery life expectancy and can you IM me teh price if i send you a ta01 to pop on a jpoint (you provide) and mount (you provide) for me? |
Battery will last about 1 year under normal shooting conditions. No need to send me your TA01 as it is VERY simply to install the JPoint mount. C4 |
K I just bought a TAO1 off the EE. I a) don't care wha tit costs anymore, cause I'm dead set on doing this and b) relaly would rather you do it. I have a nasty habit of screwing up easy things, getting angry at inanimate objects, and ruining whatever I'm working on. It's not like you're in Hawqaii or anything, the shiping will be worth it just to have someone whoknows what they're doign do it.
LOL, sure you can send it to me. Check your IM for pricing. C4 |
C4iGrant, the batt life for the Dr is around 3 years isn't it? I've had mine on for a long time (way over a year) and it doesn't seem to bo going down at all. |
If everyone in this world treated eachother like Grant does his customers...... man this would be a nice planet.
you rule dude. I'll post pics when she's done. |
Gett'er Done! |
NO idea about the Dr., but I am on the same battery for going on 2 years now on my JPoint. C4 |

Does anyone have any experiences, good or bad, with the ATN “Miniature Red Dot”
ATN Ultra Sight Digital Compact I can’t say for sure how much bigger it is than the Docter or the JP, but I am guessing it may be a little to big to mount over an ACOG, but I would like to know if anyone has tried it. I have seen it mounted over a scope, using an ATN Ring Adapter or the ARMS Tactical Ring Rail. I definitely like the idea of being able to go quickly from a high powered scope to a red dot just by lifting my head up a little. The ATN also seems to have some nice features like being able to choose from 3 different reticle patterns. The other nice thing is the price, you can get one from Optics Planet right now for $140.00 and that price includes UPS shipping. It does come with a 2 year warranty, but my big concern would be the durability issue? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, “Capt Richardson” |
I have handled these and think they are too large to mount on an ACOG or Scope. C4 |
Grant, does the Jpoint have adjustable illumination settings or is it "automatic" like a Reflex? Would there be any washout issues going from dark into light environments? How about using a bright Surefire in pitch black, will the dot washout then?
