Hi all,

I was just wondering about using OEG's with NV monoculars (e.g. PVS-14, NVM-14, etc.). Does the concept still work or not? And what about using things like the Eotech/Aimpoint, viewed through the right eye, while viewing the target through the NV with your left eye? That is, can you shoot "two eyes open" at night with an Eotech and a NV monocular? Thanks in advance for any info.

Not sure about the OEG, and not sure if what you're saying about using one eye for each optical device would work either.  The reason versions of both Aimpoint and EOTech exist that have NV settings is so that you can place an NVD behind the optical sight and view the sight through the NVD.

No, none of what you describe will work accurately.  You may get hits on man sized targets at closr range but you will have wildly differing POA/POI issues.

The OEG concept relies on binocular vision. The reticle eye is obstructed, so the other eye supplies the visual information for the blocked area. Your eyes aren't slaved very accurately to each other, so you need visual information to align both images.

Edit: It won't work.
