I just picked up a DPMS .22LR M4 upper and I need a rear BUIS so I can go shoot it. I don't want to buy pure crap, but I need something relatively inexpensive that I can slap on it until I make an optic decision.

I agree, I just did mine. Didn't cost me anything, except what little wear there was on my Dremel cut-off wheels and grinders. Took me about 45 mintues. Here are some pics:

If I had a carryhandle I wouldn't bother chopping it at all and would just use it as-is. The upper didn't come with one, and a new carryhandle is over $100.

CCH, just don't buy a cheap one, EE has good deals, next would be the LT from Grant.

I don't know these people and have never ordered from them but they do have some cheap parts including a DPMS rear sight for $58 and just below that is a China cheap carry handle for $35. I don't think you will find anything cheaper than this.

How cheap do you want it?

Detachable carry handles are on the EE all the time. I've seen them as low as $65 shipped. I think that is cheap.
