The Armalite is a descent mount, but I think the Rock River version of the same is less expensive still with beefier rings. However, each one of these mount sits the scope lower than you iron sights would be on a rifle. This means many people have to crunch their head down on the stock a little more to use it. In addition, you dont get very much extension at all with these. Many (but not all) scopes have eye relief requirements that exceed the extension you will get from the RRA or Armalite mounts. If your scope does, not only will you be crunching your head down on the stock, but you will be backing your head away from the scope. If this is acceptable, then you will save some money and have a rugged scope mount.
If, however, you would rather keep a more natural head position on your gun, and will appreciate the better return to zero and quicker detach attributes the throw lever design offers over the thumb screw design of the RRA and Armalite, I think the LaRue is worth the extra money.
