I'm considering on adding this optic to my ar for varmit hunting using the np-1rr reticle I'd like to get some user input good and bad.

Well it does have a couple of negatives, it's big & heavy, the reticle brightness isn't easily adjustable, and it's expensive. Plus, the eyepeice rotates when you adjust the power, only a big deal if you use flip up caps.

But, if I could have only one optic, it would be the NSX for sure.
Optically it is superb, sharpness, color, contrast, clarity, it's all there, and it's a lot better than my Leupold 50mm in low light.
Rugged, didn't someone use a NSX to drive nails, put it back on their rifle and it held zero.
Not even WES has been able to wear out the elevation and windage adjustments.
The scope came with everything you need, bikini caps, lens shade, just add a mount and a Killflash ARD and you're done.

I got mine from WES at MSTN with a set of LT rings, couldn't be happier.

Great Scope but I prefer the MLR reticle.
