Either will work fine as long as you have the standard M16 carry handle mount.

if you buy a TA01, that fits in the carry handle, you can mount it on a flat top, but you will need the TA51 adapter

Trijicon will tell you the ones made for carry handles will not work for a flattop and they will tell you the reverse for a ones that was intended for a flattop. The truth is they will work on a carry handle or flattop just fine.
