Loo-pold. My company sells some of their products and this is how we all pronounce it.

Now, how many people know how to pronounce Swarovski correctly? I can't tell you how many people I hear butchering that name

I know correct is probably lee a pold but I like loo i pold

Screw it we buy the products that's all they probably care about.

Heckler and Kock is an interesting example: is it correct to pronounce the German Heckler and Coke without supplanting the and with "unt"?

That's what I do-- although it is combining German and English which may not be right either.

If Leupold was spelled Leopold then it would be pronounced like this. I thin most tools just mispronounce the same way they would mispell it.

Here's one... Hesse... now Vulcan.

Or how about Olympic

*I don't really believe that... just thought it was funny.

VLTOR.

Question: What does VLTOR mean?
Answer: VLTOR is the ancient Roman spelling for the Latin word ULTOR, meaning "Avenger". This word was commonly used to describe the Roman God of War "Mars".

I've heard people pronounce it Loi pold, but since nobody here pronounces Volkswagon as "Wolks Vagon", we'll do it the American way
I do pronounces Waffen SS as "Vaffen SS", and Luftwaffe as "Looftvaffa", but that's just me.

From what I understand the correct way to say SAKO is "sock-o" not "say-ko" as most of us Americans pronounce it.

I hear it pronounced seiko all the time.  Hell, I asked a kid in Cabelas to see a Sako and he did not know what I meant.  He insisted it was Seiko.
