I know absolutely zero about NV and I'm trying to help settle the estate of a good shooting buddy. Among his gear, we came across a night vision monocular with headset. Tried it and it appears to work fine ... but we can't figure out what make etc. it is, so we can get a value for it.

The only markings on it are " ST 3000 3rd Gen ANVIS SN01182xxx ."

I'm appreciate any help from the experts -- first, what is this thing? And second, it's be great to have an estimated value given that while it works (at least for me), I have no idea whether it's functioning correctly or at 100%.

Wow, thanks, Larry! I called them and it is indeed one of theirs, manufactured in 2000.

They said it sold originally for $1,500 retail ... and that they'd like to buy it back for parts, offering $300-$500 depending on how it tests out. I'm still flying blind on this -- does that sound fair?
