I just received my #40A.  It looks OK except for the fact that there's a tiny gap between the upper's top rail surface and the sight base.  See the following:



The upper is from a Model 1 20" kit.  Should this gap be here, and should I care either way (i.e. will it complicate the zeroing process)?  Other relevant facts:  I have 2 detchable carry handles that I have mounted to this upper.  One, marked "MM", has the exact same issue as this #40.  The other, a Colt rifle take-off, fits flush with the upper.
