I purchased an ARMS #40 through Bushmaster and mounted it on my Bushy M4 last night. 1) It seems to have some space (does not sit flush) on the flat top near the back of the sight. 2) When flipped up it seems to lean back slightly. Is this normal?

And lastly.... I got the .40 taller front sight post on recommendation from the bushmaster website, do I need to install it or not? I was worried about it affecting my aimpoint.

Don't install it - try to zero at 50y w/o using the taller sight.  If it works you're good to go.  If it doesn't work then install the taller sight.

It should not lean back and it should sit pretty flush. try to remount it.
