SOME DO, LIKE THE 3.5-15 AND 5.5-22 NXS.
THE 2.5-10 NXS DOES NOT. JUST A RING FORWARD OF THE OCULAR LENS IS ROTATED TO ADJUST THE MAGNIFICATION, JUST LIKE A LEUPOLD. WE |

I didnt know that. I have a Nightforce 2.5-10 on the way. Why do the other Nightforce scopes adjust like that?

I WOULD EXPECT ONE OF THEIR ENGINEERS LIKE JEFF HUBER COULD ANSWER THAT, BUT I AM AFRAID I CANNOT.

Glad to hear the 2.5-10 fixes that annoyance. The flip-up cap gets in the way on my 3.5-15 when adjusting magnification.

I have a 2.5-10NXS. The dial is a significant improvment over the entire tube rotating. I have a Leupold CQ/T and the entire tube turns. Not a huge deal, just annoying. Not a hiijack, but what do you folks think of the rubber caps? Have you considered moving to Butler Creek? I don't like the flopping rubber. Opinions? |

I ditched the rubber caps that came on my 3.5-15 for the Butlers. The flips are just way more convenient and faster to deploy. I just wish the eye piece flip didn't get in the way of changing magnification.
I think the fact that the magnification ring has been changed on the 2.5-10 makes a pretty good arguement for me to downgrade ( or upgrade depending on how you look at it ) to that one over my current NF scope. I don't really need that extra 5x anyway, and the 2.5-10 should be lighter. Hey, Wes. You don't by any chance have the weight figures on the 2.5-10 do you? Doesn't look like NF has updated their site to add the 2.5-10 yet. I know my current 3.5-15 weighs in at 30 oz. |

If the rubber comes in contact with the occular lense you wont be happy. Some scopes leave this glass very near the end, not well protected like the far side, which is usually 'deep'. |

TRY TURNING THE NIGHTFORCE 2.5-10X24 NXS RUBBER CAPS INSIDE OUT WHEN REMOVED. THIS SIMPLE STEP SOLVES THE FLOPPING ISSUE. THEY NEED TO PUT THAT IN THEIR MANUAL!
THE 2.5-10X24 NXS WEIGHS IN AT 17 OUNCES. A LEUPOLD 3.5-10X40 LR/T WEIGHS 21 OUNCES, FOR COMPARISON. I'VE BROKEN TOO MANY BUTLER CREEK LENS CAPS TO BE A BIG FAN OF THEM. THE ONES THEY MAKE FOR AIMPOINT SEEM MORE ROBUST TO ME. WES GRANT M.S.T.N. |
