Can I shoot with the both eyes open method with this scope for cqb? And how bright is the light? Is this a good scope? Want to buy a ta31 but since they are all backordered I thought about this. I want a scope with a little magnafication and the ability to shoot cqb reliably. Any suggestions?

No, I don't think that you can shoot it with both eyes open, as the eye relief is extremely close and it is hard to look through it unless you are very close to the scope.  While some models have a "CQB" reticle, I hardly think that it would serve that purpose well.  Having never fought in any combat situation, but having run drills with my AR that has a IOR M2 with a "CQB" reticle, it would be effective for medium range shooting, say 50-200yds, but anything within 50 yds, it seems the world gets really small and moves very fast due to the 4X magnification.  An Aimpoint, and an EOThingy I suppose, would be much quicker for CQB and short to medium range shooting.

As mentioned, I view it as more of a 50 to 300 meter scope, so it's sitting on my 20"


CQB is better served with a Aimpoint, Reflex II, or if you want some magnification, a compact ACOG does well.   My 3x is a little slower than my Reflex, but it's still plenty fast for CQB work

I too own on and would concur with the comments above.  The M2 is wonderful for medium work but would not be a run and gun optic.
