Sorry if this has been post before...
Anyway I just find out last week by a friend, but I didn't post it until now because I wasn't sure and my friend didn't give me any links until now.
I can't tell you how many times I have seen people get scamed with Aimpoint replicas specially at e-bay (one of those people is my friend how send me this heads up...) So I told my friend that I want to buy an Elcan, this a while ago and he told me to be careful, it seems that some chinese company is now producing a copy of the Elcan for just $200-$220.
Well from what I have seen in the pictures the Elcan copy looks exactly the same as the real one, so now you know if you find a good deal on an Elcan just make sure it's an original...
So far we have seen copys of Aimpoints, Trijicons, AN/PAQs, U.S. Optics, Leupolds, A.R.M.S. mounts, Knight's Armament...this leaves me with the idea of what's next!?!?! I honestly can't think of something else besides Eo-Tech's... maybe a tank or airplane ...

I wouldn't really be worried, just ask for a sight picture through the elcan.  It it looks like a red dot, it's an airsoft replica.  If it looks like an elcan, then it is indeed an elcan.

where would one find an acog knockoff?

it sucks expecting the real deal when such a great deal is had and getting no so good of a deal in the end.

maybe he can try and return it or reread the sale info to see if it was false advertisement then report to ebay.?.

But but but, cheap foreign knock offs made for toys ARE effective and efficient.  Havent you learned that lately Winston?

You tell em Lumpy. Just look at the Tacpoints.

It looks like an Elcan so therefore you must first prove to me that is product is NOT better than a real Elcan before I believe it is not as good.

Maybe it will attract the same group of folks that buy Tacpoints  If there's ever any logic in buying a Tacpoint, it can be applied to this chicom knockoff pos.

I hope no one actually tries to mount that to a real rifle... Thats just stupid especially when its gonna break from recoil, and  IOR 4x is only about a hundred more and its meant for real guns..

I've got a reason, It's gonna be mounted on a .22, don't want a big honkin BSA red dot, mounts with one ring..

You racist!  The Chinese make products that are just as good as anything produced by the greedy, capitalist American (and Swedish in the case of Aimpoint) pigs!  You should be happy that they are offering a cheaper alternative.  Besides, only rich armchair commandos would waste their money on a REAL Elcan.

BTW they aren't copies.  Does Elcan hold the patent on all optic sights?  Is a Ferrari Enzo a copy of a Ford Pinto?  They both have four wheels and run on gasoline.  Is a B2 bomber infringing on the Wright Bro's patent?  Of course not.

BTW, my TacCan works great on my plinker.  As soon as I apply a can of simulated wear, I'll be good to go...

chill out jackie chan....cheep chinese knockoffs have been flooding the American market for years...go to your local flee market and look at all the knockoff Nike sportswear....This is illegal if you use the same name to marke the product. I don't think the B-2 was named the Wright B Flyer...so we are talkin apples and oranges here.

I'm pretty sure the Swedes are socialist, not capitalist.  And I thought Aimpoints were made in the U.S.?

Didn't know that, damn dirty Swedes...

Yeah, Aimpoints are made in Sweden, I know because one of mine has been sent back there twice.  I know they have an office in the US, but I don't know if they anything other than sales and customer service.

Most of that computer you're sitting in front of was probably made in China. Does that mean it's a knockoff too?

Of course not.  All products are created equal.  We wouldn't want the poor Chinese workers to feel that their workmanship is inferior to the skills of US or European workers.  And of course we must not discriminate against those unfortunate souls that cannot afford the Elcan, yet want a product that looks the same for less.

Therefore to keep everyone happy it is forbidden to compare products on ARFcom.  The new ARFcom motto from hence forth shall be: "If it looks cool, it will work well."
