I thought it was common practice to always clean the screws before applying Lok Tite.  I always use a little isopropyl alcohol.

Thanks for the heads up.  BTW, any ETA on the LaRue BUIS?

I kind of liked the bronze hardware, anyway.  It was distinctively LaRue. The folks that complained about it not being black didn't have much of valid argument, IMO.  I tiny little bronze screw head is not going to give you away, but your big ol' white (typically) head sure will.

BTW, thanks for the info, Grant.

Yet another reason why I like LaRue products.  Mark LaRue stands behind his stuff and if there is the slightest problem he addresses it and takes care of the problem.  Good job Mark and Company!!!

Grant,

What product does Mr. LaRue suggest using to "degrease" the Torx screws?  And does it just effect just the TORX screws or the TORX screw and the metal screw housing?

Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks for the info Grant.  I should have been more clear in my first post.  Does the torx screw housing (the metal portion on the mount that the torx screw, screws into) have to be degreased as well?

Thanks,
Jeff

This may need a bump.

Yep...good call.  I first learned about this on Sniper's Hide, but it's good to see a thread about this here as well.  I used a cotton swab dipped in 95% alcohol to clean my housings and scrubbed my screws with a toothbrush/alcohol...they've been rock solid ever since.

Does this apply to the screws for the ARD on the 12.0 forend?
