Does anyone have any good sugestions for a mount for a scope on the carry handle.  I know it's not 'ideal' but since I'm building a CQB rifle for my ban expiration gun, I'm thinking about turning my old carbine into more of a long range shooter.  What mount will give me a good solid platform and still allow the use of irons too?

I'm thinking something in the Nikon Pro Staff range for the scope.  Although I admit I have no experiance in this area.

One of the gooseneck mounts, like the ARMS #39 would be best for something attatched to the carry handle.

On my A2 CQC carbine I prefer the optic mounted on a FF rail system.

What type of optic are you using?

ACOG is a little outside the price range.  I'm not wanting this really for battle type optics.  I want to punch paper at 100-400 yards and maybe some hunting when I can find someone to tag along with.

As for the gooseneck, how could that work for a magnified optic.  Eye relief won't allow that I wouldn't think.

Edited to add:  I'm looking for a standard scope so mounts that would work for that purpose are prefered.

A.R.M.S. makes one that sits in the handle www.bushmaster.com/shopping/scopes/5855-01-299-777.asp

It allows the use of irons.  Ring height is the only issue...rings that are too high makes for an uncomfortable shot...rings that are too low will allow the objective end of the scope to block the use of irons.

Good Luck

I put a Burris Mini 4x on a Bsquare carry handle mount with Weaver medium height rings. Scope as low as it can go, looks good and cheek (chin) weld isn't too bad. Whole set up around $200.
