My guess is, "hard sights" either means fixed, non-folding BUIS on a flat-top, or an A2 Carry Handle upper...

You might also look at the Surefire rail system.  For a handguard rail they hold position great by using set screws to maintain pressure.  I just tried out the setup and I was quite happy with it.



Cowittnes works fine, although it's just a tad low.  If you peek over the top of the rear irons the recticle will be in the upper half of the window and you can't peek over too high.  None the less I was able to zero it and it seems to hold.

I'll know more as time goes on but so far I like it.
