I have a 16" carbin .223 Bushmaster looking for a scope that I can see the bulet hole at 200 yard on the target.Wath magnification am I looking for?

10x or a good 4.5x14 varible will allow ya to see the bullet holes at 200 yards.

A .223 bullet hole at 200 yards with a 10x?  Well, just BARELY.  I'd go at least 15x.  Thank God I have a 60x spotting scope.  Makes things REAL easy.

Da, That's a Leupold Mark IV 10x, I referred to above btw, (very good optics on the Mark IV, IMO) and I assume with comparable optical quality 10x would be the minimum necessary.

I do agree, it's much easier to see with my newer 6.5x20 Leupy, but I see 'em fine with the Leupy 4.5x14 too.
