From topics posted in this board, I came to learn that aside from the #22M68 mount, I need a spacer to mount the Aimpoint on the flat top. Using this set up, I also would like a back up rear sight that will co-witness. What should I get? The LMT or the ARMS #40 or the new ones from ARMS (I don't know the numbers :)).

Also, I am saving for an ARMS SIR system. Can I use the above set up/combination? Thanks.

The SIR is its own spacer.  You will remove the space to use it on the SIR.  Just get the regular ARMS 40 or the one with the uncut aperature.  If you prefer a non flip up get the LMT unit.

The Arms#40 is the far and away most highly thought of buis on this sight.

When you get the 22M68 make sure you order the extended spacer. Not the straight one. ARMS doesn't assign model numbers to spacers so you have to verbally specify that you want the angled/extended spacer. That allows you to get the M68 further forward which improves field of view.

For a back up sight, I recommend the ARMS #40A. It is identical to the 40 except the small aperture isn't cut in half.

The newest version (40L) is designed to fit under ACOGs and makes some significant tradeoffs to do that. It is, IMHO, not as good as the 40/40A. I would get one only if you plan on using an ACOG.

The ARMS #40 is the only one that will work with the SIR, so that may be your only choice.

The KAC 300 meter also works with the SIR's.

By the way, why can't I use the #40A with an Aimpoint + SIR? The #40A have both the 300 meter and 600 meter aperture???

The 40A will work fine in that application.

Thanks. Does the #40A have both the 300 and 600 meters apertures?
