I have been trying to locate a seller for some 9v battery packs for my Surefire light (looks like 3 3v cells with buffers and shock absorbsion in the pack).  I bought some pre-Y2k, but can't find the receipt so I can get more from that guy.

The light is a L90, and the packs are marked "DL323AC 9V"...

I could use several, if someone knows where to find them.  Surefire doesn't list them on their site; at least I couldn't find them via the search function.

Man, Surefire sure does rape us for the battery packs, considering what the individual 3v lithium batteries they sell go for...

Considering the twelve packs of 3v batts go for around $12, the buffered pack seems to be a waste of money IMHO.  I have never heard of anyone having battery problems in a weaponlight with the regular batteries.

I have, though the circumstances were unusual.  I had attached one of the regular hand held 9V lights to the barrel. It died in short order, because of the batteries battering back and forth.

When I talked to a rep at Surefire, they explained to me that the weaponlight was constructed differently, with buffers between the batteries to keep them from moving back and forth, plus some additional shock absorbsion for the bulb itself.  Luckily, for me, they replaced the 9v light for free, just that once.

I ended up buying a real weaponlight system from them, and it has given me good service, except for the outrageous price for battery packs.

I use the loose cells taped together for training and the real 9 volt packs for defence.
223's will rarely kill batteries but shotguns will kill them fairly fast.

I ended up picking up some at the Harrisburg PA show today. $16 each. Ouch. What a crock. $3 worth of batteries, 13 worth of "cushioning and packaging".  I think I'll save the sleeving and internal cushioning of the old packs and see if I can make some with the new Surefire lithium cells.

The SureFire battery packs also have the 3V cells connected together in series so that electrical continuity is maintained even if a gap opens up between the cells.

The cushioning looks to me to be plain old fiber washers.
